Rich

Master Instructor Richard Scrivener

Step into a constantly evolving movement landscape!

Shapeshifter Flow is a dynamic Animal Flow session built around one central challenge: navigating changing space. Within and between movements your “movement window” can evolve. This creates challenge: angles change, base of support shifts, directions reverse and load redistributes.

Your task? Anticipate. Adapt. Mold your body. Maintain form.

This session will guide you through:

  • Focused rehearsal and refinement of key techniques
  • Exploration of how spatial constraints evolve within and between movements and transitions
  • Strategic sequence construction using movements from across L1, L2, and L3
  • Integration into an expressive and layered Flow

You will be challenged to preserve structural integrity while responding to spatial change. To control your center of mass as leverage shifts. To stay grounded when orientation rotates. To remain fluid under constraint.

Expect technical precision. Expect problem-solving. Expect moments where the window narrows and you must decide—quickly and cleanly—how to move through it.

By the end, you will execute a Shapeshifter Flow that demands awareness, adaptability, and composure in motion. The space will change. Your movement must evolve with it.

Join me.

Paulo

Master Instructor Paulo Fernandes

Explore how Animal Flow elements develop high performance in athletes and clients. QMT plays an important role in Reactive Strength Index (RSI) and maximal isometric strength. Combine slow-tempo isometric holds like Beast Activations with fast reactive drills like Front Steps to develop strength, explosive power, and elasticity.

Paulo Fernandes is a Cape Verde-born, Angola-based movement coach and strength & conditioning specialist whose career spans owning a boutique training facility, coaching professional basketball and handball national teams to Africa Championship titles, and pursuing academic credentials in sports science. Paulo was drawn to the Animal Flow system’s ability to progressively build mobility, strength, posture, and self-awareness. When he’s not coaching or flowing, Paulo fits in twice-daily meditation and trains 8–10 hours a week — a testament to the disciplined, well-rounded approach to life and movement that defines everything he does. Miro

Master Instructor Miroslaw Basciuk

You’ve earned your Certified Animal Flow Instructor title – so how do you start up a group class series? Unlike many fitness classes, Animal Flow does not work as a regular “drop in” class where anybody can show up for any class. Students who are new to AF must learn each movement, including the ability to perform it with proper technique and to understand the call out language. A successful class series needs to ensure that students can progress while still feeling challenged.

MI Miroslaw has developed an effective strategy for onboarding new students through a 10-week training cycle for beginners, which he has now been teaching for years at his fitness academy in Poland.

This session is designed to help AF Instructors understand the principles of working with a beginner/introductory group. It is structured as a lecture with some movement elements. Miro will provide an overview of how he programs the complete 10 weeks of classes. Participants will have the opportunity to perform individual elements step-by-step.

Come experience how Miro uses his “Less is more” motto with fewer techniques but more repetitions and work on technique.

*We recommend attending this session along with the sessions from Mike Fitch (Beginner Class Format) and Amanda Carlson (Intermediate Class Format) for a comprehensive overview of teaching AF classes!

Miroslaw “Miro” Basciuk is a Polish martial artist with over 20 years of experience, holding a Hung Gar Kung Fu master title and founding the Tiger and Crane Sports Academy, where more than 300 students train in Kung Fu, Animal Flow, and kettlebells. Since joining Animal Flow in 2016, his commitment and leadership have helped build one of the strongest Animal Flow communities in the world, all while managing a waste recycling business and raising a family. Guided by a philosophy of relentless self-improvement, patience, and collaboration, Miro models a disciplined, purposeful life — from his early morning movement practice to 30 years of vegetarianism — inspiring those around him in every arena. Eve

Master Instructor Evgenia “Eve” Kabanova

Take a deep dive into incorporating fitness equipment into your Animal Flow practice. While AF is a Quadrupedal Movement Training (QMT) practice that typically uses no equipment, you can still use a variety of tools with specific movements to increase load, proprioceptive feedback and control.

MI Eve will take you through a variety of L1 movements in this session. With each one she’ll explore the goal of that movement and demonstrate how specific fitness equipment can be utilized to modify, regress, or enhance it.

This session will use equipment including: yoga mat, yoga block, foam roller, tennis ball, resistance band (1m, 10-20kg). Attendees are encouraged to have some of these available to maximize their participation.

Evgenia “Eve” Kabanova is a leading advocate for movement education across Eastern Europe and Central Asia. With a background as an international-level acrobat, dance educator, and exercise science researcher, she combines technical expertise with a passion for helping people discover movement as a lifelong practice. Eve is dedicated to the idea of a “healthy mind in a healthy body”, which she gladly shares with fitness coaches, professional athletes, and everyday students. Learn More open_in_new

Master Instructor Miroslaw Basciuk

How many times do we inhale and exhale air a day? Tens of thousands of times! Yet, many of us lack awareness of our breathing and lack the ability to work with it daily, both within ourselves and with our students. As a freediver who regularly competes (current results: breathold 4:51 min, DNF 147 m, DYNB 178 m), Miro will provide you with both the theoretical foundations and a practical approach to breathing training, as well as its application to sport and Animal Flow practice.

Jeff

Jeffrey D. Buxton, DSc

Quadrupedal movement has informed research in neurophysiology, rehabilitation, and developmental kinesiology, shaping how we think about interlimb coordination, postural control, and movement function. This session will briefly trace that lineage, from foundational locomotor and rehabilitation concepts, including Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization, to more recent research on quadrupedal movement training and Animal Flow.

We will examine what current evidence suggests about the potential benefits of these practices, including movement quality, active range of motion, muscular demand, and energy expenditure, while also considering how related work in flexibility, strength and conditioning, and rehabilitation may point to additional possibilities worth exploring.

Participants will leave with a deeper appreciation for the science behind quadrupedal movement, a clearer understanding of what is currently supported, and a thoughtful perspective on future questions and opportunities for Animal Flow practice and research.

Jeffrey D. Buxton, DSc, is an Associate Professor of Exercise Science at Grove City College whose research and teaching focus on functional movement, corrective exercise, performance enhancement, and Quadrupedal Movement Training. His doctoral and ongoing research have explored the effects of Animal Flow on movement quality, mobility, strength, endurance, energy expenditure, and muscle activation. Dr. Buxton is dedicated to helping students, coaches, and fitness professionals better understand human movement and apply evidence-based strategies to support lifelong health and performance.

Chaddy

Master Instructor Andrew “Chaddy” Chadwick

As coaches we need to remember that our clients do not live in the world of “fitness”. Our ability to communicate effectively is one of the fine arts of coaching. During this session we will explore how our language can baffle our clients to the point of hatred of exercise. We will then look at a simple strategy to create a better chance of success and comprehension in performing movement tasks.

Learning Objective 1: Understand how language affects the skill of exercise.

Learning Objective 2: Understand how language can control a person’s beliefs around performing exercise.

Learning Objective 3: Learn a simple strategy to consistently develop better movement capacity and skill acquisition and retention.

Andrew “Chaddy” Chadwick is an internationally recognized movement educator with more than 20 years of experience in fitness, coaching, and performance. Known for blending science, intuition, and play, he helps people improve their health and longevity through movement while making complex concepts accessible to all skill levels. A former athlete, military serviceman, award-winning presenter, and senior instructor for leading fitness organizations, Chaddy is passionate about empowering others to grow through consistent practice and lifelong learning.
