Join us for our favorite week of the year: Animal Flow Mentorship Week. This year we’ll be on the stunning island of Amorgos Greece for a truly epic 8 nights. Connect with the AF community, improve your AF technique, and experience a week full of flow.

NOVEMBER 16 – 24, 2022 (8 NIGHTS)

THE EVENT

The agenda includes movement sessions, practical workshops, tons of Flow practice, technique work, individual and group flow design, epic adventures and awesome social activities. Don’t worry if you are coming by yourself – most attendees are also coming by themselves. You can expect to make life-long friends from around the world at the Mentorship!

The Mentorship is open to anyone who has taken the Level 1 workshop. You are not required to have completed your Level 1 certification test, although it is recommended that you do so prior to the event (if you are eligible to become certified).

The packed schedule includes:

  • nearly 8 hours of formal sessions each day, including group classes, learning sessions, and group practices;
  • time woven in throughout the day to allow you to relax, recover, and socialize;
  • dinner together each night, where we share our highlights from the day, followed by informal social events;
  • a full day off in the middle of the week, for our Great Day of Adventure and Rest, where you’ll have lots of options for activities and/or just chilling out;
  • and designing and filming what we call “The Epic Flow,” showcasing all the participants

THE LOCATION

We’ll be at the incredible Aegialis Hotel and Spa on Amorgos Island. Experience true 5-star luxury in one of the most beautiful Greek islands. Located on a slight hill overseeing Aegiali Bay, the resort offers you a front row seat at sea views and the majestic mountainous landscape of the island. The prime location is only a short walk to the beach and the Aegiali shops.

On-site amenities include 6 beautiful yoga shalas and a rooftop for sunrise and sunset mediation and flow practices; the full-service Lalon Idor spa with indoor pool, sauna, fitness center, hammam, and jacuzzi; an award-winning restaurant; and modern luxurious rooms.

Amorgos is a remarkably unspoiled island at the south-eastern edge of the Cyclades group, where traditional customs are still inextricably interwoven into a landscape as rich in beauty as in its history and culture. We’ll be able to explore secluded and remote beaches as well more popular busy beaches. The island’s highlight is Agia Anna beach, below the impressive 1000 year old Byzantine monastery of Chozoviotissa, where the famous film “Big Blue” was shot.

Accommodations are provided in the SUPERIOR CYCLADIC ROOMS. These are double rooms, with two twin beds (the beds are close together but will have separate linens); a private bathroom, and your own balcony with view of the Aegean Sea.

These rooms feature state-of-the-art facilities in a minimal Cycladic design mentality and present a subtle, elegant and modern comfort. All rooms include Wi-Fi, Air Conditioning, and Coffee and Tea facilities.

We are unable to provide private rooms, as we would like to accommodate as many participants as possible. You can request a roommate, or just sign up and we will pair you up with some one. We don't have any bad people in Animal Flow, so you are sure to have a great time.

Rooms all include elegant, modern comfort and amenities including WiFi, Air Conditioning, and Coffee.

Every room has a private terrace with view of the sea.

The single twin beds are next to each other, but set up with their own linens and bedding.

Registration includes three meals per day:

An abundant breakfast buffet is served every morning, with Greek and American breakfast options.

Lunch and dinner are provided daily at the award-winning Ambrosia Restaurant . The restaurant uses fresh food and locally grown vegetables and a variety of spices grown in the island. The Chef specializes in Greek traditional food and uses recipes of the owners’ grand-parents. He prepares local dishes such as “patatato” (Amorgian goat marinated in local red wine, slowly cooked in a cinnamon flavour tomato sauce with potatoes); “fava” (Amorgian yellow peas cooked with fresh onion and rainwater, served in puree style, topped with sweet onions, fresh herbs, wild mint and virgin Amorgian olive oil); and “favokeftedes” (Amorgian vegetable croquettes with yellow peas).

We'll make the most of these wonderful gastronomic options, with a fun group Greek food cooking class one evening.

Vegetarian and vegan choices are available, and they can cater for different dietary preferences.

Daily breakfast buffet offers many options.

The award winning restaurant serves delicious, nutritious, amazing food.

Drinks will cost extra but the on-site bar is sure to provide lots of entertainment!

Amorgos does not have an airport but is easily reached with daily ferries:

From Athens: Athens International Airport (ATH) is the most convenient to arrive. During the month of November, the ferry leaves Athens at 5:30pm and arrives at Amorgos around 2:30am. But don't worry -we'll all be arriving at that time and won't have anything planned for early next morning.

From Naxos:You can also reach Amorgos from the island of Naxos. There is a daily connection to Amorgos on board the local ferry Express Scopelitis departing at 14:00 – arriving at the port of Aegiali on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday and at Katapola port every day, except for Sunday. This trip can be considered as a mini cruise to the Small Cyclades island cluster (Iraklia, Schinousa, Koufonisi, Donousa). The duration of the trip is 4 to 5 hours.

Every night at 23:00, the Blue Star Ferry departs from Naxos to Amorgos (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday to the port of Aegiali – Tuesday, Friday and Sunday to the port of Katapola). The duration of the trip is 2 to 3 hours.

Local Transport: Transportation from the port on Amorgos to the venue is provided by the resort and is included with your registration cost. (Transport to the island is NOT included).

We can provide additional details about booking the ferry prior to the event.

All prices are per person, for double occupancy in the Superior Cycladic room:

  • Early Bird (until April 1): $2300 USD
  • Late Bird (after April 1): $2800 USD

Payment Plans:  You can save your spot with a non-refundable deposit of $300. The balance in split into 3 payments due April 25, July 15, and September 25. A $20 processing charge (3% bank fees) is added to balance payments for a total of $60 surcharge.

If registering under Early Bird prices, the 3 payments (after deposit) will be $687 each. If registering after April 1, the payments will be $837 each. If you are eligible for a discount, we will apply the discount to the first payment due in April.

Or Pay in Full:  You also have the option of paying in full at time of registration.

Applying Discount:  If you are eligible for a discount -  if you are paying in full, enter your discount code at checkout; if you paying by deposit, do NOT enter your discount code at checkout - we will instead deduct the amount from the April payment.

Your registration includes:

  • 8 nights lodging
  • 3 meals per day, including vegetarian options
  • Transport to and from the island port to venue
  • 30 minute relaxing massage in the on-site spa
  • Special edition mentorship shirt
  • Welcome bags
  • Use of the indoor heated swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, hammam, and fitness center
  • Greek cooking class!
  • Participation in the full week Mentorship curriculum with Mike Fitch and members of the MI Team

The following items are NOT included and would be additional cost:

  • Transport to the island, including ferry from Athens
  • COVID test, if necessary
  • Alcohol, smoothies, and other special order drinks
  • Any food eaten off-site
  • Optional additional activities
  • Tourist accommodation tax of 4 € per room per night is not included and has to be paid by all guests during check-out.

We maintain a strict cancellation policy for the Mentorship, as the event requires extensive planning and it is difficult to fill spaces for an international trip at the last minute. You are therefore required to attain your own travel insurance to cover most instances of cancellation. We do not require that you submit proof of insurance, but by registering for the event you are acknowledging your responsibility to attain appropriate travel insurance (covering medical emergency and travel cancellation).

Refunds will be provided according to the following schedule. If we are able to fill your spot after the cancellation deadline(s), we would then issue you a refund covering most of your payment, minus administrative processing fees.

  • Cancel by April 1: Full refund minus $25 processing fees. You would also have the option to transfer full value of payment(s), without any admin fee deductions, to a future event
  • Cancel between April 1 and September 15: 50% refund. However, if we are able to fill your spot, we will provide a 95% refund.
  • Cancel on September 15 or later: 0% refund. However, if we are able to fill your spot, we will provide a 95% refund.

This schedule applies to your cancellation for any reason, including but not limited to injury or medical issues; family emergencies including death; cancellation or changes to your flights; changes to international travel permission or border restrictions due to COVID-19 or any other reason; and/or any other personal emergency.If we are still holding the retreat, we will not provide a refund beyond the schedule described above, even if your reason for not attending is beyond your control.

If the venue requires us to postpone the event until a future date, we will automatically transfer you to the new date. We will attempt to find a date that is suitable for most people. If you cannot attend the new date, you may need to seek reimbursement from insurance company. We will work with individuals to find best solutions, but cannot guarantee that every person would be refunded the full amount. We therefore may direct you to your travel insurance company under some circumstances.

If our company, Global Bodyweight Training, LLC (owner of the Animal Flow brand) cancels the retreat, we will offer you a credit for a future event, or a full refund.

We reserve the right to change the participation of any of the Master Instructors listed as attending in the promotions for the event.

The first night of the 16th is dedicated to arriving on Amorgos. The ferry from Athens will arrive around 1 or 2am in the middle of our first night there. (The reason this Mentorship is 8 nights instead of the usual 7 is to make up for the fact that the first night will entail everyone arriving int he middle of the night).

You should plan on taking the ferry from Athens on the 16th, to arrive on Amorgos just after midnight.

We will allow everyone to get settled, get some sleep and then explore the venue in the morning. We'll begin the official activities on the 17th, immediately after lunch.

Most days are packed with a schedule that includes formal flow instruction, individual and group practice, and social activities.

We'll take a full day off in the middle of the week, and you'll have option of relaxing, going on adventures, taking advantage of the spa, or doing whatever you want. v

We'll spend a day preparing and filming The Epic Flow.

And our last day will spent with some wrap up, Animal Flow games, and mobilization work.

On Thursday the 24th you'll take the 6:30am ferry back to Athens.

I want to come but I don't know anyone else to attend with me. Will I still have fun?
Yes! The majority of attendees come as individuals. You will make tons of friends. We will pair up roommates of same gender, unless you specify that you'd like to room with a specific person.
I am not very advanced in my Animal Flow practice. Will I still get anything out of the Mentorship?
Absolutely! We design the program to accommodate people of all skill levels. Our goal is for everyone to leave being a little better than when they came in, no matter where they started.
I would like to bring my significant other but they don't practice Animal Flow. Can they just stay in my room and enjoy the venue?
We aren't able to accommodate any non-participants for this Mentorship. We anticipate having more people who want to attend than we have room for, so we need to allocate all bed spaces to Animal Flow participants.
We are a couple who are both Animal Flow Instructors and we would both like to attend. Is there any discount for sharing a room?
We will have two people in every room and won't be able to receive any discounts from the venue for couples, so we need to keep the same price per person.
Can I register with a deposit and then pay in installments?
Yes! You can register by paying $300, and then we will split the balance into 3 payments. We will add a processing fee of $20 onto each payment.
What if my country experiences a surge in COVID-19 cases in November and I am barred from entering Greece?
We will not be able to refund you for a last minute cancellation for any reason. If we are still holding the retreat, but you cannot attend, you would need to seek reimbursement from your travel insurance company.
My country requires me to have a negative COVID-19 test to return. How will I be able to get that done during the Mentorship?
While we cannot predict what will be happening with COVID-19 travel requirements in November, we will ensure that everyone who needs a COVID test for travel is able to attain one at the appropriate time. You are responsible for any costs.
Will you require participants to wear masks?
We will require participants to comply with all requirements of Greece and the venue. If masks are not required at the time of our event in November, then we will not add an additional mask requirement. If masks are required, inside, outside or in specific spaces, we will ask participants to respect the venue rules and comply. We do not anticipate that masks will be required, but we cannot predict what the situation will be in November.
