Building upon the strong foundations learned in Level 1\, the workshop teaches 10 more new moves\, as well as progressions for the Tuck Balance. You’ll delve into more advanced concepts like energy transfers\, tempo changes and using animal locomotion in Flows\, while engaging in intermediate level flow design. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEVENT LOCATION\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Course\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhile Level 1 is focused on providing an introduction to Quadrupedal Movement Training and learning the foundational AF movements\, Level 2 emphasizes exploring more complex movements and bringing in more creativity.   \n\n\n\nParticipants will learn how to successfully perform the ten new L2 movements\, as well as how to correctly integrate the movements with L1 to create extended Flows with an increased degree of complexity and intensity. Participants also learn how to instruct the movements and incorporate them into a training program. Special attention is paid to  understanding how the L2 movements train the fascial slings of the body; understanding the role of dissipating force\, fluidity\, and leverage in the advanced movements; and understanding how to instruct a range of progressive drills and conditioning exercises that form the introduction to hand balancing practice.  \n\n\n\n\n\nThe full two-day agenda includes 16 hours of instruction: \n\n\n\n\nIntermediate flow design\n\n\n\nReview of key Level 1 movements\n\n\n\nIntro to Hand Balancing: Tuck Balance Progressions\n\n\n\nNew Transitions: Reaching Underswitch; Reaching Underswitch to Deep Ape; Scorpion Sweeps; Roll Throughs; and Crocodile Rolls\, Pop Switches and Pop Outs;\n\n\n\nNew Traveling forms: Bear\, Leopard\, Crocodile;\n\n\n\nUsing traveling forms as a “link” for switches and transitions;\n\n\n\nHow and why to introduce tempo change and energy redirects into a flow;\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat’s Included\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYour registration includes everything you need to prepare for the workshop and complete the process to become certified in L2. You should be proficient with all of the L1 movements and call out language.\n\n\n\nAs with L1\, you should be physically fit enough to support your own bodyweight in quadrupedal positions (all fours) and be medically cleared to participate in physical activities. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCertification Options\n\n\n\n\nYou can test out to become a Certified L2 AF Instructor or Flowist. \n\n\n\n\nCERTIFIED L2 ANIMAL FLOW INSTRUCTORS \n\n\n\nFitness and yoga professionals who are already certified in L1 can complete the test to become certified in L2.  \n\n\n\nThe test includes 3 parts:   \n\n\n\n\nCreate and perform a 3-minute Flow that meets the specified criteria;  \n\n\n\nTeach 3 of the new movements to a client who already knows L1; \n\n\n\nDemonstrate ability to hold a Tuck Balance \n\n\n\n\nTests are due within 90 days of the workshop. You can request an extension for the Tuck Balance component if needed.  \n\n\n\n\n\nOFFICIAL L2 FLOWIST \n\n\n\nNon-professionals can attain the title of Official L2 Flowist. You must complete L1 first. The movements covered in day one ranges from Activations to the “ABC’s” of Traveling Forms and finishes with an introduction to Switches & Transitions. \n\n\n\nDay two systematically builds upon the movements that were taught in day one\, with a strong emphasis on movement fluidity. The day begins with a series of full body mobilizing sequences known as Form Specific Stretches\, followed by 4 categories of Switches & Transitions. (See the following Certification Options section for the requirements to become a Certified AF Instructor) \n\n\n\n\nAttendees must be at least 18 years old.\n\n\n\nIndividuals of all skill levels can participate. Prior experience with Animal Flow is not required.\n\n\n\nYou should be physically fit enough to support your own bodyweight in quadrupedal positions (all fours) and be medically cleared to participate in physical activities. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCertification Options\n\n\n\n\nTaking the Level 1 workshop is the first step toward becoming a Certified Animal Flow Instructor or Official Flowist. \n\n\n\n\nCERTIFIED ANIMAL FLOW INSTRUCTORS \n\n\n\nFitness professionals are eligible to become Certified AF Instructors\, allowing them to teach AF in personal training sessions or group fitness classes\, and/or integrate it into other fitness programming. To become certified\, participants must complete the test out process after the workshop and provide proof of credentials as a fitness\, yoga or martial arts professional. The test out process includes completing an online 30-question exam\, and then submitting two videos that demonstrate specific areas of proficiency. Students have up to 180 days after the workshop to complete the test out process without a late fee. \n\n\n\nIf you have questions regarding whether your fitness professional credentials would qualify you to become certified\, please email workshops@animalflow.com. While credential types vary widely between regions and disciplines\, we generally look for certifications or degrees in relevant fields (fitness\, yoga\, physical therapy\, exercise science\, martial arts) from accreditation organizations. We do not accept nutrition or life coaching certifications. \n\n\n\n\n\nOFFICIAL FLOWIST \n\n\n\nNon-professionals are welcome to take the course for their own benefit\, though are not eligible to become a Certified AF Instructor without first attaining a qualifying fitness credential. You’ll delve into more advanced concepts like energy transfers\, tempo changes and using animal locomotion in flows\, while engaging in intermediate level flow design.
