Angelica Jacinto AlbertoMindful Movement Coach
I am Angelica Alberto from the Philippines: certified couch potato-turned-internationally certified mindful movement coach.
I am passionate about working with fitness newbies – people who feel unconfident, uncoordinated, and unsure about their movement, or who feel like guests in their own bodies. It is these people who need the most help, and need movement the MOST, yet they are often left behind or forgotten.
I know firsthand what it is like to be deeply uncomfortable/not trust your own body. I spent majority of my life sedentary and shying away from movement; at one point, I found myself in so much physical pain from not moving my body which made me seriously doubt my self-worth. Finding movement saved my life and I knew I wanted to spend the rest of it helping others achieve the same.
I never feel more accomplished as a coach than when my students say they their lives have actually improved because they no longer experience chronic pain, or have never felt so good in their body, or can’t stop thinking about the flow we did in the last class. Knowing this is the impact that my work/career is having on people is incredibly fulfilling and I wouldn’t trade it for any amount of money or recognition.
Seeing the joy unfold as someone makes that journey to understanding the potential their body has for movement lights my soul on fire. When you are able to ignite that curiosity in someone, and then give them the tools to explore it, you empower them to improve their quality of life. The repercussions of this ripple far beyond the workout session, and can deeply impact self-esteem and self-worth. This is my goal for every students who steps into my class.
