Animal Flow Advanced Flow Design ONLINE WORKSHOP (London Time Zone)
August 22 @ 12:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Join us for the Animal Flow® Advanced Flow Design Workshop, taught online via video remote (through Zoom). The workshop will be taught live by Master Instructor Richard Scrivener. Participation is limited to 18 individuals, so that we can still ensure students will have an appropriate amount of interaction with each other and with Rich. This workshop will be taught in English. It is 7 hours long, beginning at 12pm GMT (London time) / 7am EST (New York time). You must be present for the full time.
You must have taken L2 prior to taking AFD. We have L2 available online on August 15-16 here. Or, you can have taken L2 previously.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE/ REQUIREMENTS
This course will be taught utilizing the Zoom video conference platform. This is not a webinar livestream, but rather an interactive workshop where participants will be able to see and interact with the Instructor, and the Instructor will in turn be able to view all the participants. A maximum of 18 students will be admitted, to ensure the Instructor is able to see everybody clearly and to facilitate a smooth experience for everyone.
You will need to set up your laptop/webcam in an area where you have space to practice the Animal Flow movements. You can practice the individual moves in a smaller space (ie an 8ft x 10ft living room -type space), BUT you be putting together your own advanced flow that is likely to use some traveling moves, some combos, and other movements requiring some space. So, start thinking ahead of time where you might be able to do this, whether that means rearranging your living room, moving to your garage, using a closed studio space, or perhaps even going outside.
You will need to have access to WiFi that is strong enough to stream video for the full 7 hours. We will not be able to help you if your WiFi connection is poor. If you know you do not have access to a good WiFi signal, we do not recommend attempting to complete this course online.
We will utilize the Zoom platform for the workshop. You will be able to download the Zoom app to your computer for free. We recommend stream the video from your laptop to a larger screen – such as a large tv in your living room – if you have that option. That will allow you to see and hear the Instructor and the other students clearly, while also being able to practice the moves in your space. It is possible to participate using only a laptop, but you will need to be prepared to move back and forth quite a bit as you view what is being demonstrated on the screen, and then work on the move in your space. You should NOT plan on doing the entire workshop on a Smartphone – you will not be able to see the Instructor and other students well enough on a tiny screen.
We will provide time for short breaks during the workshop, as well as a 30 minute lunch break.
You must be present for the entire workshop.
ABOUT THE COURSE
The AFD online course will cover the identical curriculum as the live workshop. The Instructor will provide the same lecture materials, and will teach the exact same movements. You will also have the opportunity to engage with the other participants in small group work, just as you would in the live workshop.
AFD is an intense but super fun workshop focused solely on helping you design and execute higher level flows. You’ll learn new moves and trickier transitions, with emphasis on dramatizing the movements and bringing in your personal flair. End the day by performing a creative flow of your design with feedback from your course instructor. Read more about ADVANCED FLOW DESIGN HERE.
Topics covered include:
– Further understanding of energy rolls, redirects and brakes;
– How to strategically use tempo changes;
– When to use personal style components and flare;
– New traveling moves: Baboon, Frog, Traveling Underswitch;
– Properly integrating Animal Travels;
– Combining L1 and L2 movements;
– Tons of new transitions for getting into and out of switches and transitions;
– Design your own flow using creative transitions and individual style
You must have taken L2 prior to taking AFD. It is okay to take L2/AFD back-to-back. You should be very familiar and comfortable with your L1 practice prior to attempting AFD.
Both workshops will be taught by Animal Flow Creator Richard Scrivener. Rich will teach in English.
